About Us

On West 44th Street, just steps from Times Square, the St. James Theatre has been one of Broadway's most storied addresses since its doors opened in 1927. The lobby is small and charming by design, pulling you straight into the atmosphere the moment you arrive. The bar is right there to greet you, the souvenir stand gleams with show merchandise, and the whole place hums with that particular electricity that only a live Broadway house can generate.

The auditorium itself rewards every seat in the house. Mezzanine patrons rave about the sightlines, and the acoustics carry every lyric and punchline with clarity. Past productions that have called this stage home include some of Broadway's most celebrated runs, and current offerings like Titanique and The Queen of Versailles keep audiences returning weekend after weekend. With a 4.6-star rating across more than 4,300 reviews, the St. James consistently delivers what Broadway promises.

Operated by ATG Tickets, the theatre is open seven days a week, with box office hours running Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from noon to 6:00 PM. Whether you're grabbing a last-minute Saturday matinee or planning a birthday-night splurge, the St. James makes the experience feel exactly as special as it should.

What We Offer

The St. James presents Broadway productions across the full spectrum of theatrical experience, from sharp musical comedies to big-budget spectaculars. Current and upcoming shows are bookable directly through ATG Tickets, with options ranging from orchestra floor seats to mezzanine views that many regulars swear by for the full panoramic effect.

The on-site bar offers pre-show and intermission drinks so you never have to rush. The souvenir shop stocks official show merchandise, making it easy to take a piece of the performance home. Group bookings and special occasion arrangements, including birthday celebrations and corporate outings, can be coordinated through the box office during regular hours.

Tickets are available online at any hour, but the box office window is staffed Monday through Saturday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday noon to 6:00 PM for in-person purchases, will-call pickup, and any questions about accessibility seating or premium experiences.

"Great venue to see a show. We saw “Titanique”, which I knew nothing about, but was so happy I went. Absolutely hilarious and great music. It was a Saturday matinee, and tickets were reasonable. Happy to see some familiar faces in the cast including Jim Parsons and Frankie Grande. They were both excellent including Marla Mindelle as Céline Dion and Layton Williams as The Iceberg. Melissa Barrera and Constantine Rousouli were fantastic as Jack & Rose. Excellent sound system and comfortable seating. Incredibles set design. We sat in the balcony and had decent view of this stage, although at times the performers coming off the front of the stage were difficult to see. However, that did not really affect the show. Maybe because it was raining, getting in was very fast and easy through security and ticket scanning. Staff was helpful in getting us to our seats. A bar was available, but coming from lunch we did not use it. So if you’re looking for a great show, in a nice venue, the St. James Theatre is the place to go. Enjoy!"

"🌟 The Queen of Versailles – Broadway, NYC ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I brought my wife to see The Queen of Versailles on her birthday, not knowing what to expect—except that Kristin Chenoweth was in it, and Wicked is basically the soundtrack of our car. Despite the mixed reviews floating around, this show was a blast. It’s bold, offbeat, and surprisingly relatable—especially if you’ve ever tried to give your kid the world while your wallet says “not today.” Kristin is still Kristin—a powerhouse with comedic timing and emotional depth. And the Filipina nanny? Scene-stealer. She brought warmth and humor that grounded the chaos. The cast was fresh, the energy was high, and the story—based on Jackie Siegel’s real-life rollercoaster—was both outrageous and oddly touching. From the glitz of building a $100 million mansion to the gut-punch of the 2008 recession, this musical dives into the cost of chasing dreams, fame, and family legacy. And it does it with sequins, sass, and a score that sticks. 🎭 “You’ll leave with stars in your eyes, a tune in your head, and caviar in your dreams.” That tagline nails it. So yes, go in with an open mind, and you’ll walk out with a smile. 5 stars. Go see it today. 🎟️ Quick Facts: • Venue: St. James Theatre, Broadway • Lead: Kristin Chenoweth as Jackie Siegel • Music: Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) • Book: Lindsey Ferrentino • Direction: Michael Arden"

"When you get here you’ll be walking right into the lobby! It is small & charming. The bar is right there & across you can buy the souvenirs from the show. Our seats where on the mezzanine. Just be aware: the seats are quite small, tight with little leg room. The bathrooms are on the basement & mezzanine level. I think they can do a better job organizing the bathroom line during the intermission (on the basement level), it can be confusing. All the staff are helpful and friendly! We saw Sunset Blvd. Update: this time we sat on the mezzanine closer to the edge and the seats were comfortable. We saw The Queen of Versailles!"

"Big beautiful theater but I am 6 feet tall and the rows of seats are so close that my knees hit the back of the person in front of me. Also spot lights were blinding while we were waiting for the show to start."

"We attended The Queen of Versailles. Our seats were second row on the balcony. It was a great place to sit. The bathroom lines were never out of control & the gin & tonic was perfect. Lovely historic theatre."
